Hello, dearest readers.
While words have always been my thing, I find myself at a loss for them these days. I can’t stop thinking about how my grandfather escaped Dachau just for his granddaughter to live under another fascist regime all these years later. (Yes, of course, the United States was always fascist—but there’s no denying the Trump administration and its cronies are upping the ante.)
So if you’re in the United States like me, I hope you’re hanging in there as best you can and keeping yourself + your community safe. Practice hope as a discipline. Read about the movement leaders who came before us—Grace Lee Boggs, Audre Lorde, bell hooks, Angela Davis. Resist early and often. And most importantly, protect the folks who are more marginalized than you.
Channel your inner Raegan. Be a goddamn menace.
Street team is open!
Onto some lighter things. Thanks to the help of my friend and PA Anastasia, we’ve opened a street team! This little community is intended to help foster connection with other readers who enjoy my books, so it’s pretty laid back. Members receive preference for e-ARCs, early looks at character art and bonus content, plus occasional giveaways! We’re also creating an IG chat where you can hang out with fellow Yearners.
HOLY WRATH is coming …
And to celebrate, here’s a look at the character art that the absolutely amazing Annalise Jensen created of Nyatrix and Ophelia! I can’t wait to reveal the finished piece with the truly swoon-worthy coloring and extra details <3 Ophelia’s hair! Nyatrix’s jawline! The cathedral frame! The PINING!
This standalone novel of femme rage, religious trauma, queer resilience and revenge against men who think they are god arrives later this spring. You can pre-order an e-book here, if you’d like.
Paperbacks will be available at most major retailers on/near release day. Signed hardcovers will arrive a few weeks after release day. I understand how wonderful it is to hold the hardcover in your hands on release day and I’m so sorry to make this change. Dealing with the stress of getting the book to the finish line AND fulfilling pre-orders when IngramSpark (the printing service most indies use) is so unreliable is … just too much, honestly. I appreciate your understanding!
More details on e-ARCs are incoming, but you’ll absolutely be able to sign up for a review copy of Holy Wrath soon—and I would LOVE your support in getting this book out into the world.
Fantasy fun in April
I can’t spill the details just yet, but I’m participating in a magical romantasy event at Capricorn Books in Jenkintown, PA in early April. Two other AMAZING authors will be joining me. If you’re local to the area, keep your eyes peeled!
And just a reminder
I’ll be keeping this newsletter very much orientated on the kind of details you’ve seen so far—releases, character art, ARCs, events, etc. If for some reason you enjoying my longer ramblings, make sure that you’re signed up to receive my occasional missive, The World Beneath the World, too. You can do so here—just toggle to the “on” position next to that section!
That’s all for now <3
I’ll be lusting over Woodland Magic’s winter candle drop, editing Holy Wrath, organizing with my community, cleaning the community fridge, filling up the free library with banned books, and possibly punching Nazis. Oh—and continuing work on not one but TWO super secret lil projects. More soon.
In the meantime, make sure to show them how sharp your teeth are.
OH I AM SWOONING
